Some time this year some idiot stole or forgot to return my Horizon Audio cable after a show. Either that, or I misplaced it and my house has a black hole somewhere… either way, I want that cable back. There is nowhere in Singapore that gives a lifetime cable warranty like Horizon or Whirlwind does. Swee Lee’s best warranty is Ibanez’s 10-year guarantee, which (to be fair) I have never tested yet — I have no idea if they’ll take it in without a receipt. There’s also Planet Waves’ lifetime warranty, but I honestly do not like the proprietary connectors on those so they stay on the shelf.
Consumers in Singapore are really shortchanged when it comes to warranties and returns on musical equipment, but I suppose it takes two hands to clap as well. Stop abusing the system and some day we might get better service and better return/exchange policies. Until then, I’m getting everything I can elsewhere. Some days I don’t understand how we can claim to provide good service when here in the US you get it so much better.
(Props for Kellie at Swee Lee though — she’s taken good care of me every time I go there)
