The email says “For Immediate Release”, so I guess it’s safe to post this here:

Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX RIM), today introduced the BlackBerry Curve 8900 and BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 smartphones in Singapore. The new BlackBerry Curve 8900 is the thinnest and lightest full QWERTY BlackBerry® smartphone and features a compact and refined design that works, looks and feels great. The new BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 is the first BlackBerry smartphone to come in the popular “clamshell” form factor. “We are pleased to work with our carrier partners to present two additional RIM innovations to customers in Singapore,” said Gregory Wade, Regional Vice President, Asia Pacific at Research In Motion. “The BlackBerry Curve 8900 and BlackBerry Pearl Flip smartphones build on the success of the BlackBerry® platform and offer customers two new, well balanced alternatives to meet their mobile lifestyle, entertainment and business needs.”
(blah blah blah)

Sweet! This one’s been a long time coming, and I’m glad to see it’s going to hit our shores at around the same time as — if not slightly earlier than — T-Mobile.
Anyone have any clues as to the date the Curve 8900 will hit Singapore?
Please no1 tell me 1st quarter.
I really wanna get it and have been following the phone’s releases in different countries for some time.
I also tried asking Singtel n M1, but apparently no1 has any idea. (psst some never even heard of the phone)
Q1 09 was the release date given by RIM… other than that you’d have to ask the higher-ups in the telcos :) So you’d have to wait a month or two at the most. You can take a look at the official press release if you want, maybe I missed something out: http://tr.im/eiir
Hey — if you look at ST page A5 today you’ll see that M1 has it out. The other telcos will probably have it as well :)
