STOMP Must Die

Some people I talk to will know that I am no fan of STOMP, the Singaporean equivalent of a citizen tabloid (or whatever passes for one). And I really don’t like Singapore Seen; they rub me the wrong way, as if they were the Moral Police of Singapore. In my opinion, they fail to contribute to society in a positive manner. Phrases like “I could not help but marvel at her selfishness” imply that there is sort of moral high ground they stand on that has yet to be seen.

But wait — there is hope! Several people have started a movement called Stomp out STOMP, calling for either a shutdown of the site, or a revamp that focuses on critical thinking about social issues. Anything that potentially brings up the Neanderthal level of journalism on STOMP is fine by me.
