Lent

Hi guys. I’m giving up /yeah for 40 days of Lent… among other things. I’ll still be on Twitter, though. See you around.

Postbox

Good show. I’ve never seen the *scape lab so happy for a gig before.

Jimmy Eat World on Yo Gabba Gabba

Ladies and gentlemen, I hereby proclaim Yo Gabba Gabba to be the Greatest kids’ show in the world. Here’s another video (that amazingly hasn’t been removed by Viacom) with Jimmy Eat World, a green screen and a bunch of — don’t mess! — flying dogs and cats:

The Roots & The Ting Tings on Yo Gabba Gabba!

Holy shit, how did I miss this? The Roots performed on Nick Jr. for Yo Gabba Gabba! last year. I laughed for five minutes straight when watching this video — they took it down from YouTube but I managed to find one on Lifelounge. The Ting Tings went on too (on a different episode), but [...]

Morrissey’s New Album in Stores Tomorrow

I quite like this album. It’s in stores tomorrow (16 February) in the UK and on Tuesday in the US. Take a listen to the single I’m Throwing My Arms Around Paris:

Mute Math Releases New EP

Mute Math are one of my favourite bands — they’re actually on my list of bands I must see before I die, so that counts for something. Roy-Mitchell Cardenas, bassist of the band (and who happens to be really good at it) actually has a blog with a lot of stuff from behind the scenes. [...]

Chicago

I drove to New York
In the van, with my friend
We slept in parking lots
I don’t mind, I don’t mind
I was in love with the place
In my mind, in my mind
I made a lot of mistakes
In my mind, in my mind
You came to take us
All things go, all things go
To recreate us
All things grow, all things [...]

Ziig

I have 1% faith vs 100% faith, with a difference of 99% do I still get to the pearly gates?

Movies I’m Looking Forward to in 2009

I mean, seriously — guns, robots and ninjas! It doesn’t get much better than this.

Prada Flat Messenger

$1050 from Barneys — people have told me they don’t like Prada, but damnĀ if these aren’t sweet.

?uestlove at the Airport

Morning hilarity:

For those who don’t know: ?uestlove (pronounced Questlove) is the drummer for The Roots.

New Sunnies!

Bought a pair of Ray-Ban 3342s today — after sitting down and looking at the 3322s vs these, I like the silver frames better. I think I’m the last member of the band to get a pair of aviators. I bought an electric shaver too, but who wants to know about those? Natch.
Was up until [...]

Blackberry 8900 Released

Totally missed this one — M1 is carrying the 8900, if you want to get it. $398/$498, depending on whether you get the Blackberry plan or not. If M1 is carrying the 8900, the other telcos should follow suit if they haven’t already :)

Menu Salt & Pepper Shakers

Passing the salt has probably never been this fun. A must if you’re running a bachelor pad, or if you just got married and are trying to have fun while you still can. Unfortunately, they’re probably annoying to use — those wheels look like they’d feel pretty big in your hand.

Postbox EP Launch, WGB Late Night Show

Postbox will be launching their EP on Saturday the 21st of February at *Scape, accompanied by For This Cycle, Lunar Node and Lazy Susan. Now, I like Postbox and For This Cycle, so I’m going to call Leo and see if he’s free to go catch them:
